Joan's Catering Inc.'s Founder.

Our founder, Joan Mickiewicz, actually never intended on running a catering business. She always loved to cook, and when her neighbors found out how good she was, they would ask her to prepare meals for their parties. She cooked in her own kitchen and handed casseroles over her back fence or walked down the street with covered dishes.

In 1985, she finally opened Joan's Catering, Inc. in South Tampa. The company grew into one of the city's most successful food service companies. Her flair for food preparation and event coordinating was apparent in every event, down to the smallest detail. Her specialty was ensuring that each client felt as if they were her most important.

In 2006, after an extended illness, Joan Mickiewicz passed away. However, her legacy was left to her children, son-in-law, and the executive chef.

Executive Chef & Owner

Jose' Bagulho began his career at Joan's Catering, Inc. in 1986. He studied culinary arts in his native country of Portugal. He also brought six years of culinary experience working in the cruise industry. His passion for gourmet food has enabled him to carry on Joan's legacy while adding his own unique touch to the cuisine he prepares. He continues this tradition of providing the highest quality food tailored to every client. In 2009, Jose became managing partner and majority owner of the company. He strives to provide a unique culinary experience for each event.

Sous Chef

Didimo Carrillo joined Joan's Catering in 2000. For the past 13 years, he has worked his way up to the position of Sous Chef. Mr. Carrillo's meticulous attention to detail has earned him numerous accolades from both our clients as well has his peers. He literally transforms his work into "works of art".

Sous Chef

Jean-Jacques Guerin came on board to our team in 2007. Mr. Guerin brings over 30 years of experience in the hospitality and food service industry. Mr. Guerin was the chef and owner of Avec Flair, a catering company in Tampa, specializing in providing meals to private jets. Although Mr. Guerin is extremely talented preparing all types of cuisine, his specialty and his heart belong to French cuisine.
